Then you win

Last Saturday in Bayfront Park Betsy Skipp made a sign with a quote from Ghandi.  The quote directs our attention to the familiar narratives that surround those who intend to change something.  Ghandi was particularly interested in Indian independence from Great Britain, and his national civil rights movement inspired similar models around the world.  This photo was taken in downtown Miami on October 15th, 2011 where over 1000 people marched in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street.  Unlike Ghandi’s national independence movement, what we see today is the expression of anger that marks the feeling of a new global collective.  What perhaps makes this groups’ presence in Miami, and across the globe, so electrifying is that the precise narrative of this group—for the first time in history—has yet to be written. More here.
